Yes, NCAA bound baby!!!!!!

This team frustrated me more than any other recent team. I feel bad for doubting them and nearly giving up on them.

Chris Fleming played amazing the last two games. Louis Birdsong is rapidly improving, and Will and Folarin gave us the senior leadership and amazing talent we needed.

I am thinking we are a 12 or 13 seed.

Campbell and Thomas once again do something special and further cement their legacy. And taking a step back...this is a great win for the program and capitalizes on the momentum from 2006, i.e. future gains in recruiting, home attendance, TV appearances, etc. A great night for this group of guys and the GMU community.

Nice win - puts us where we expected to be all season- in the big dance. Will and Folarin have given us a great 4 years and are primed for another run.

Fleming and Birdsong showed up big all tourney - did not know until Bobnoxious pointed out that Birdsong is only 18, which explains some of the dribbling errors he makes - great thing is that he is getting older.

Love that Dre went inside when his 3 was not falling - we need him to be more then one dimensional

Cam - just an athlete that stays active - love seeing the alley oops back in our play book.

If we are a 12 or 13, there is not a 4 or 5 that want to see us 1st round

This tourney FIRST...but, next year is looking even better based on the play in the CAA tourney by Fleming, Birdsong, Smith, and Long. Adding Vaughan to that mix makes for an intriguing starting line-up in 08-09 (plus, Monroe will be back inside).

I totally with Trent's statement regarding recruiting...once again, the nation gets to see and be reminded that Mason has a winning and strong program, a great coach, and is a great place to go to college. I hope we use that to our advantage by keeping some more local talent (Long, Fleming) close to home for four years.

GO MASON. Let's make some noise...this time, America will be watching from the beginning.

Farmdog, thanks for the props. But, alas, this is why we shouldn't take as gospel the words from tier C commentators on ESPN: Full name is Louis Edward Birdsong Jr.... Born September 9, 1988. I'm no math guru, but that doesn't add up to 18 with my slide rule.

Larranaga rules, defense is the priority, “We came here with a mind-set that it’s really not about the offense,” Patriots coach Jim Larranaga said. “It’s so important that your defense be a consistent part.”

GMU will compete nicely in the tourney if defense and turnovers are the focus. Scoring will come but not necessary to score over 65 to be effective.

Lookout! The 12-5 matchup is a great one every year in the NCAA!!

Go MASON!

The best thing about this weekend was the play of the "Huslte Men" That was Birdsong and Flemming. They were the reason that many of the plays continued and why Mason was able to win. They played with passion that was seen early in the season. If Flemming continues to play on both sides of the court the way he did in Richmond it will take pressure off of Will and will only make it more difficult for whoever we play and free up the guards for an outside shot(if they can hit them).

BIG UPS TO FLEMMING AND BIRDSONG THIS WEEKEND.

I agree with Christopher with this is a frustrating team, I am not sorry for doubting them though, they gave me to many reasons to doubt. Nice tournament and great result.

The best thing was listening to VCU cheer for W&M to beat ODU then see the look on their faces when W&M beat them. It was freakin' priceless.

More William and Mary fans than Mason fans last night. That was a little disappointing. I know it was William and Mary's biggest game ever, but we should have had way more, as we try and build Gonzaga East. However, maybe they were just louder. Could not tell exactly who had more fans there since everyone was in green or gold. Great being on court during net cutting.

It was very confusing trying to figure out who was rooting for who, with that color scheme going on. Until someone scored a bucket, of course.

I agree about W&M having more supporters than us in the Coliseum. And what was disappointing at times was our support lacking enthusiasm at times. In fact I noticed Smith & Thomas calling on the Platoon to increase their decibel levels.

But what an amazing experience ! WE ARE THE CHAMPIONS !!!
