VCU fans email CAA calling for Hancock suspension. Seriously?

Yeah it's true and man I thought ODU fans were sore losers. Basically Luke Hancock was trying to get a rebound and locked arms with the Ram's Ed Nixon which lead to him inadvertently falling to the ground. So of course usual hot head Larry Sanders didn't take to fondly of that and neither did VCU fans over at Ram Nation forum, who I guess think it's fine Sanders shoved Hancock into the scorer's table. Here's the video clip of the situation, that resulted in Sanders getting T'ed up:

What a bunch of sore losers. But also a reminder of what Hancock brings to the court..."That's my ball damn it." Not teachable.

I just like how you guys cut the clip short before ESPNU replayed Hancock shoving Nixon to ground about half a dozen times in a row. Very nicely done.

I imagine the thought process was something along the lines of, "Let's just cut the clip short right here before the incriminating evidence is shown over and over again..."

I have not sent an email, have no intention of doing so, and don't necessarily believe Hancock should be suspended, but... seriously. At least show what actually happened!

Read the comments on page three. The CAA responded to the inquiry. Interesting feedback from the league on the situation. Before blaming the refs, maybe they should figure out why their team blew a 15 point lead.

I understand. I'm not here claiming Larry shouldn't have gotten the T, and I'm not here claiming Hancock should get suspended.

I'm pretty sure what Hancock did should have been called, and cutting the video short right before they show the replay from a better angle a few more times is kinda suspect.

It was definitely a foul on Hancock but an no-call and unsportsmanlike conduct (technical) on Sanders. As we all know no matter what side you were on, the officiating was pretty poor last night.

If you have clear possession of the ball--which Hancock did--during a rebound and do not flagrantly foul an opposing player, e.g. high elbows, then it is NOT a foul. The refs made the right no-call. Just because Luke wanted it more does not mean that's a personal foul.

should have been a foul on nixxon if anything. Not only did nixxon jump straight into Hancock to grab the rebound but he also had the incriminating arm still wrapped around Hancock's arms.

Also the CAA wouldn't suspend someone for that, eg: Tony Skinn. Its up to the coach.

Really, the clips did not show Hancock shoving Nixon "about half a dozen times". They showed him trying to get Nixon off him for the most part. VCU played very good tough man D all night. It went both ways.

The rebound was more of a flop than anything. Hancock didn't even follow through. Love the toughness though. Hancock was scrapping all night, and by the way, the refs were talking to Nixon and Hancock throughout the game telling them to knock it off. It was good hard hoops on both sides until Sanders hip checked him. That was cheap.

I will admit that the refs did not keep up. I don't know if the snow storm kept the scheduled refs from getting there, but these guys felt like replacement guys. Missed a lot of calls and were indecisive. Tough game to call. Very intense.

Wow, just read through the VCU comments, they are fighting amongst themselves. At least it was good to see some of them realized that it was called correctly and it is stupid for VCU fans to whine about calls that they can't change. Hancock was definately showing his desire to get the ball no matter what, and that kind of hustle is VERY good to see at Mason! Best game of the season! Definately glad I braved the snow for this one!

Don't VCU students/fans have better things to do - like trying not to get shot on "campus"? Move on. You LOST.

Let's be honest for a second though...that's about as weak of a T as you will see. Blocking foul, perhaps...but technical, please.
