Cam Long earns CAA player of the week honors

It was pretty obvious after the week Cam Long just had that this award was coming. Not only was he a huge part in the Patriots coming off the three-game road trip undefeated but he averaged 24 points a game and set a new career-high with a 27 point, 7 assists performance. Although at this point you might not have pegged him the team MVP so far, he's been a big part of Mason's current winning streak. Litos says he's finally living up to his press clippings this season, and I agree with that. At the start of the season we expected Long to be playing at this level straight out of the gates. The cramping issue earlier in the season played a role in his slow start but that issue seems to be behind him. The pressure of trying to lead a group of talented, young, first year players might be subdued more at this point which is allowing Long to do what he does best. This may just the beginning of what we will see out of him this season.
