Interview with 2010 commit Jonathan Arledge

The 6'9" prospect Jonathan Arledge verbally committed to George Mason last month and Recruit Recon recently caught up with him for an interview. Here are my favorite tidbits:
"Recruit Recon: How did Coach Laranaga make George Mason seem like the right place for you to continue your basketball career?

Jonathan Arledge: Really by making it feel like a family, a place where I can call home. I have faith in Coach Laranaga and myself, to get my skills up to that next level.

Recruit Recon:
What are the strengths of your game?

Jonathan Arledge: I feel I am an all-around player. I don't just excel at one thing, I have tried and continue to strive to be great at many aspects of the game, whether it's rebounding, passing, ball handling, defense or shooting. I take steps daily to progress and become a complete player. I am a gym rat so you can always find me in there 5 to 6 days a week.

Recruit Recon: Who is best player you’ve had to guard?

Jonathan Arledge: The best player I had to guard has to be Mouphtaou Yarou (Villanova).

Recruit Recon: How did you do with that match up?

Jonathan Arledge: I did pretty well. Since he was so much bigger then me and stronger at the time, I would either face him up or bring him out to the perimeter. I came out of the game with a hard fought 17 points, 12 rebounds and 2 blocks. I love playing against better competition because that will only get me better."

That gives me hope for our game against villanova this season. I was worried we wouldn't have anyone to match up against that guy.

Looking forward to seeing this guy play too

We won't see Arledge til 2010-2011 season. He's a high school senior who recently committed to signing with George Mason.

I am liking the fact that I have seen Jon Arledge as the 32nd ranked center in high school bball in the country.
