Mason's non-conference schedule set

This just in from a couple different sources, the following is a list of Mason's 2009-10 non-conference opponents (home games in BOLD):

Friday, November 13 vs. Liberty
Sunday, November 15 vs.
Dartmouth
Thursday-Sunday, November 19-22 vs. TBA at ESPN Puerto Rico Tip Off
Saturday, November 28 at Tulane
Wednesday, December 2 at George Washington
Tuesday, December 8 vs. Dayton
Saturday, December 12 vs. Creighton
Tuesday, December 22 vs. VMI
Wednesday, December 30 at Radford
Saturday, February 20
ESPN BracketBuster

I can't say I'm disappointed with it when you consider how many young guys will be getting serious minutes next season. Creighton, Dayton and VMI are quality programs that we will see at that Patriot Center. Add to that the caliber of some of the teams the squad could face in the Puerto Rico Tip-Off (6 BCS schools) and I think we are looking at some really good early season tests.

Your thoughts?

Thanks to everyone that sent this in.

My thoughts, this is a good non-conference Schedule, we get our local matchup against GW, we get the Tip Off in PR, Dayton, Creighton and VMI all come to the Patriot Center. And plus we get the Bracketbuster at home. This is something to get excited about.

Best lineup in many years and a perfect fit given the make-up of the team. They need to take everyone seriously but do not need to be afraid to show up with attitude!

Much better non-conference schedule than last year. If we win some of these games an at-large bid would be a real possibility and not a pipe dream like last year.

My thoughts???

My thoughts are there only 5 BCS schools in the tourney, not 6 like you mention.

Dayton, Creighton and VMI will be three dogfights all in a row, and all three play very different styles. I'm very glad they're all home games.

Talked to some of the guys, they say they're ready for revenge against 'Nova. Hope to draw them in the Tip Off.

It's not just VMI that we play, but Liberty and Radford also from the Southern conference -- those three finished 1-2-3 in their conference last year, so there's a pretty good chance at least one of them will be a first layer mid major team to deal with.

Saw that Nova game from two years back. I remember we were doing fine with a nice lead until their guards started raining in the threes. Also remember down the stretch one ref in particular kept jobbing us (this from my brother who was neutral, so not just me) until the other ref finally overrode one of his calls. It was a good game we very well could have won, so I'm glad our guys have the possible rematch on their minds.
