Puerto Rico Tip-off field almost set

The field for November's Puerto Rico Tip-off is almost set. The Patriots join a field that includes UAB, Dayton, Georgia Tech, Indiana, Kansas State and Villanova. An eighth team is yet to be announced. Five of these seven teams were in the post season this year and Villanova is still dancing in the Final Four. Meanwhile, Georgia Tech has the #1 rated prospect coming in and there's no way Indiana can be much worse than last year, so the field is looking pretty good. This tournament could give the Patriots a real test early on and hopefully some quality wins.

Early tests for this young team. A great way to set the tone for the season. I love it.

VCU hired another Florida assistant. Hopefully this one doesn't work out as well.

A great way to start the season!

So Penn State won the NIT last night. Looking back at the scores of their tourney run, Mason played them the tightest. Makes me wonder what might have happened had we won that game...

JD if that makes you wonder what would have happened if Mason won, then you could just imagine if Mason had closed out all of the loses except maybe a couple. They might still be playing now.

yeah but Mooky you can say that about any time... what if? what if? what if? the fact is that we didn't close out our games (and it's not like we lost one or two from this, we lost many games) The teams still playing now have not let that happen to them this year which is why they are in Detroit now.

Yeah man I guess we'll never know. Fun to think about though.

When I first looked at this tournament page, the Missisippi St. logo was scrolling across the page along with the other teams. Its no longer there. A mistake or a sign of what's to come?
