  • Scheduling news: UMBC will travel to the Patriot Center on December 4
  • Since Lamar Butler is the only member of the 2006 starting five not mentioned in a story today, I'll note that he owns a successful online sporting goods and apparel store. Check out the site.
  • Recruit Jalen Jenkins who committed to George Mason in June, will be enrolling in the Fall and not attending prep school. He also plans to redshirt. Per Zach Braziller of the NY Post.
  • Click here if you want to read a poorly put together 2012-2013 preview for George Mason

Skinn only played 9 minutes against Argentina and didn't play against France.  Was he hurt or ineffective?

I saw the injury happen.  It was while Skinn was driving to the hoop.  He got fouled and in the process he made a really awkward step but "came out of the step" pretty quickly also.  Still, it left him in pain on the floor.  Here's an interesting story on his trip to the hospital afterwards, and the prognosis that he'll be out 6 weeks (therefore I'm assuming it's not an acl or anything like that).

And this from the Nigerian coach in an earlier story, before Skinn got the injury: “Take for instance a player like Tony Skinn, who has a swollen leg. The lad has not been able to train because of his injuries but he still manages to get onto the court on match days. Against the USA, we only used him as a decoy, who was not supposed to handle the ball too often. But the USA thought he was dangerous and still went after him. He didn’t last for long on the court. We are still trying to patch him up."
