Will George Mason have black alternate uniforms this season?

Ryan Pearson tweeted some interesting pictures today:

I believe the last time the Patriots wore black uniforms was either against VCU in the CAA finals in 2004 or on the road at Oregon in the NIT that same year.

11/10 update:  Mason just posted a picture of all three uniforms for the season. So no green jerseys at all for this season. When was the last time that was the case?

NBA Lockout is a blessing:

1. Cam was prob disapointed he didnt get drafted. But at least now he will get payed to play unlike the others drafted.

2. More attention on college sports.

Those are dark green. I'm not sure why people think they are black.

Black is not a school color.  Period.  Besides, black jerseys in sports were in vogue...in 2001!

The gold is sweet.  White is sharp.  Black is just played out.  If you want to have a color that isn't a school color go with gray.  Gray is the new popular color in sports.  GMU had gray jerseys in the 70s, so you could argue that it is a nod to the past.

But black jerseys?  Please say no.  I don't want to look like a high school team.

VCU has their games shorts in their bookstore.  Why can't we ours in our bookstore?

The Black Jerseys are actually pretty awesome, this is a step in the right direction for the school. We are stepping outside the boundaries people!

Fact is, black is NOT a school color.  We might as well have orange jerseys.  Orange is every bit of a school color as black!

We are green and gold (and white, technically).  So we have a black jersey for the sake of just having a black jersey.  People would laugh at UCLA or North Carolina or even UVA if they wore black jerseys.  Same concept.

Fact is numerous other schools have done this, including Mason in the past. That is why its an ALTERNATE uniform. The players pick out the designs so if they want to distinguish themselves from the 2006 final four- larranaga era than I don't have a problem with that. And at the end of the day, its just a damn jersey.

What a bad move; changing to yellow and black as the primary colors.  Now we look just like VCU... WHY?  The green jerseys are how everyone knows us, why change?  Don't get it.

Well, at least we didn't go to some crazy color blend with a flag on it for home like Maryland football.

Black and Gold.  Georgia Tech? Don't like it.  I agree with the post that asked would UCLA or North Carolina show up in black?  We all know they would not.  Bad move, coach H. Order the green jerseys now.

I lived in Atlanta, and Georgia Tech basketball uniforms were "old gold" and navy (even though the court was gold and black (go figure).  Their colors were like Notre Dame's.

Mason this year is yellow and black, like the Pittsburgh Steelers.  While they are some similarities (gold-ish and dark-ish) hey are totally different jerseys.

The black jerseys are hideous (looks more like VCU/Towson jerseys).  The yellow jerseys are tight.  The white are good, too.
