Cornelius provided VCU's locker room with some bulletin board material

Well here is an interesting article from UNCW beat writer Brian Mull today who was covering this weekend's CAA tournament. Apparently Andre Cornelius expressed his confidence in his team on twitter before their semifinal game against VCU.
"About two hours before top-seeded George Mason and fourth-seeded VCU tipped off their CAA Tournament semifinal game on Sunday, Patriots point guard Andre Cornelius posted this on his Twitter account: The game is over don’t forget to tell VCU that’s over."
Later VCU head coach Shaka Smart printed out the the tweet and posted it the team's locker room wall next to a picture of Cornelius. As if the Rams needed more motivation.

Hopefully this move doesn't mean we have seen the last of Mason players on twitter. We already had to deal with the loss of Coach Larranaga daily tweets.

It's hard to fault DJ here. He normally backs his words up and I have faith he will do so next game. If he wasn't so cocky, I think his game would suffer.

the best athletes have to be cocky - agree with the post below. would much rather have a cocky team than a scared team

they need to be smart also, say that in your locker room so it doesn't end up in the oppsoing teams locker room.

Exactly....nothing makes a player/team look bad when they guarantee a win and then come out and don't back it up. You could do it 100 times and be correct 99 times but that 1 time you don't back it up will be the time that everyone remembers.

Confidence is one thing, tweeting this was beyond dumb. Sounds like this team needed the air let out of its balloon a bit.

Come on People...what is this??? Can't take a bad loss and taking it all out on a bad tweet?!?! I understand everybody is upset but think about the players. They took a tough lesson today and let's show some support People!!! At least we got another chance to redeem ourselves. GO MASON!! GO CORNELIUS!!!

Been there done that and it will be a lifetime of regret. Of course 52 years ago they had dial phones and black and white TV. Played in one Championship game scored the first 6 points ,the other tean called a quick time out and in the huddle I proclaimed "This will be easy". Never scored another point and we lost. No, never lose the swagger Acorn but be careful where you put it. To be honest at least in my own mind the degree of publicity ,the constant comparisons to 06 might have been a distraction over the last few weeks. I hope they are mad as hell about this and go to practice with an attitude and yes, swagger that says if you are going to beat us bring your best shot because we will bring ours.

Does anyone remember the technical AC got in one of our last home games. PG need to play smart and cool. Hope he grows up a little over the summer. Ditto Morrison. Otherwise it has been a great year!
